pinhole photography
Annotating an image.
In class we were were asked to work in pairs to make notes about this image using the following questions:
|
- In this photograph I see a man walking, however he looks some what transparent also is look as if there are scratches on the lens.
- In the background I can washing machines all lined up in a row like in the laundrette.
- The image is circular because I think the camera was put in the opposite washing machines and the image was taken.
- I think the edges are darker because I think while the camera was in the washing machine I also think that the lens of it was put in a box and the image was taken.
- I think the marks on the image are on purpose to add more of an effect.
- The man walking is transparent because while he was walking pass the image was took.
- I think the photographer made this picture by putting a camera in a box with a hole for the lens and then putting the box inside an opposite washing machine, then the man walked pass also the picture was captured with a timer.
Steven pippin
Steven Pippin was an English photographer who was born in 1960 in Redhill,Surrey.Pippin liked to convert everyday objects and furniture into pinhole cameras. Although this may seem very simple, it often involved signficant amount of planning to overcome problems. Most of the time the images would turn out to be distorted, however the imperfections are the characteristics of the image.
In my opinion this image really impressive for a first time.Because you can can clearly see what is going in both the positive and negative versions of the photo. You can see the school and I love the angle in which it was taken.
